Accommodation

Lymington is a popular location for visitors, and those requiring accommodation may like to know that at weekends, most B & B’s will not accept a single night booking – they prefer two consecutive nights.  In addition, some are willing to prepare early breakfasts or provide a packed breakfast/lunch as an alternative, on request, while others are less willing to do so.   Always ask before confirming your booking – it may or may not suit your requirements, particularly if we have to leave the pontoon at an early hour.  Prices do vary from place to place so it’s well worth shopping around before committing yourself.

Lymington isn’t a large town, so none of the B & B’s are far from where the boat picks up. Try to book early if possible.

Camping/caravanning:

For those who wish to pitch a tent or park a caravan please phone the Forestry Commission on 0131 3146505. There are ample sites in the New Forest but these do become busy during the summer holidays, so you may wish to book early.

Alternatively, try Solent View Camping, Lower Pennington Lane, Pennington (very close to Lymington). Tel: 01590 671648/670873. www.hurstviewleisure.co.uk. E-mail enquiries to enquiries@hurstviewleisure.co.uk

Eating out:

Lymington is well served with pubs and restaurants, all within easy reach of the town center. Take your choice of English, Chinese, Indian, or pub grub.
