How to get to the Boat

Lymington is situated on the south coast between Southampton to the east and Bournemouth to the west.

Easiest access from the north is via the M3 to the M27 west. Exit the M27 at Junction 1 for the New Forest and take the A337 through the Forest. Pass through Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst and continue towards Lymington. Lyndhurst can be a real bottleneck on Saturdays in the summer so allow plenty of time if travelling on a Saturday morning. On reaching the outskirts of Lymington, pass beneath the railway-bridge and then at the roundabout, turn left into Marsh Lane. Pass over 2 small roundabouts when the road becomes Gosport Street. At a point where the road turns sharply right and uphill, go straight ahead into Captains Row, then left into Nelson Place and then right into Quay Street which continues as Bath Road. You will come to an area of grass on your left and then a large brick building (Royal Lymington Yacht Club) and public car park. The location is signposted to the seawater baths. When you see the slipway you will also see the pontoons where the boat picks up. Unload and park – the car park can be expensive but parking in nearby streets is free. On the pontoon, please avoid blocking the footway and also avoid leaving piles of cylinders and heavy gear there – spread them out to spread the load. The Harbour Master can become concerned about inconsiderate divers!
